What’s inside: One pack contains 1 (one) prefilled, dial-a-dose, single-patient use pen. Ozempic pen contains 4 mg of semaglutide. This pen provides 4 doses of 1 mg/week. This is not a starting dose. Other doses are not available with this pen.

How it works: Ozempic is a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar (glucose) in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, or death. Ozempic delays gastric emptying, which makes you feel full longer after a meal and suppresses your appetite.

How to use: Ozempic is injected subcutaneously once weekly. Refer to the Ozempic official Medication Guide at the link for dosing and injection instructions.

Dose escalation schedule: Start Ozempic (semaglutide) at a dose of 0.25 mg once weekly for 4 weeks. Then follow the dose escalation schedule to minimize gastrointestinal adverse reactions.
